Each sauna stove model is available in various power options. Each power level is suitable for a specific room volume. If you choose a stove that doesn’t match the size of your sauna properly, the stove won’t be able to effectively heat the sauna room, and the stove’s lifespan will be significantly reduced.
Choose a stove that corresponds to the room volume: you will consume fewer resources (electricity or firewood), the stove’s service life will be longer, and the sauna ritual will be more enjoyable! Choosing the right sauna stove is a long-term investment.
If you don’t yet know the exact size of your sauna room, follow our guidelines, which will help you choose a suitable and powerful stove for your specific sauna space.

Room length x width x ceiling height = room volume (m³)
For example: Sauna room size: 1.5 x 2.0 x 2.1 = 6.3 m³
Every surface that is not insulated or heated, such as tiled/stone walls, glass walls, windows, doors, acts as a loss. If this is not taken into account, the choice of stove power may be incorrect.
Multiply the m² of each uninsulated surface by a coefficient of 1.5.
For example: glass wall (2 m²) + glass door (1.33 m²) + tiled wall behind the stove (1 m²) = 4.33 m²
Uninsulated surfaces in the room: 4.33 x 1.5 = 6.5 m³
Add together No. 1 (sauna room size) + No. 2 (uninsulated surfaces) = total volume (m³)
For example: 6.3 + 6.5 = 12.8 m³
“4. Choose an appropriate power sauna heater. Each sauna heater model corresponds to a specific room volume (m³) and power (kW). Select a sauna heater that matches the calculated sauna room volume.
If the room calculation is on the boundary, it’s better to choose a more powerful heater.
